The Power of Unplugging: How Disconnecting Helped Me Reconnect With Myself

There’s a special kind of clarity that comes when you step away from the noise—when you pause, unplug, and finally hear your own voice again. As the CEO and director of three growing businesses, I live in a constant state of motion. Deadlines, strategy meetings, phone calls, and an overflowing inbox became the rhythm of my days. Somewhere along the way, I started to lose touch with the simple joy of just being.

So I disconnected. From social media. From the endless scroll. From the pressure to post, perform, and prove. And what I found in that space of silence was life-changing: there is no greater love than the love you give yourself.

This digital detox wasn't about stepping away from work—it was about stepping back into me. I tapped into parts of myself I had unintentionally left behind. I reconnected with nature, a source of healing I often take for granted in the hustle of my routine. I reflected deeply on my next moves, my goals, and the direction of my life. I asked myself the hard questions and gave myself the grace to sit in stillness long enough to hear the answers.

And then I did things just for me.

I took a random solo trip. I went mango picking. I grew strawberries. I booked spa dates. I met new people. I spoiled myself without guilt. I did a full photoshoot for myself, not for content, not for likes, but to celebrate myself and the woman I’ve become. I captured the energy of this chapter, and it felt powerful.

That sacred time of stillness gave me back more than I could have imagined. My business expanded overseas. We welcomed new clients and patients who align beautifully with our mission. I connected with editorials for an exciting new project that’s now in the works. Everything began flowing—not because I was hustling harder, but because I was finally aligned.

This wasn’t just a break—it was a breakthrough.

Detaching from what no longer serves you is powerful. Letting go of people who don't value you is powerful. But above all, you are powerful.

Your peace is precious. Your energy is sacred. Your heart deserves protection.

When you choose you, fully, unapologetically, you attract better. You become better. And the world responds in kind.

So, if you’ve been thinking about unplugging, take this as your sign. You don’t need permission to pour into yourself. You need intention and a little bit of courage.

Love yourself enough to step away.

And watch everything align.
